Bexhill Post Office is under threat of closure.
Bexhill Post Office in Devonshire Square is directly run by the Post Office and the branch provides specialised services which cannot currently be provided at smaller branches.
The Post Office has today announced that it is considering closing 115 directly-run Post Offices branches including our branch in Bexhill. The new Labour Government have agreed to this plan and will have to agree any final decisions. They promised to strengthen the post office network in their election manifesto.
I know just how important the Bexhill Post Office is to the residents of Bexhill and surrounding rural areas. The loss of four major banks from our high streets has had a big impact on the town and residents were told that their day to day banking needs could be met by the Post Office. It is therefore vital that we do not lose this service or the highly experienced Post Office staff who understand and serve the community so well.
If you would like to support me in this campaign, please sign the petition so we make it clear to Post Office and the Government that we value this local service.
The petition will close on 31 December 2024.
The petition will be sent to the CEO of Post Office Ltd and the Minister with responsibility for the Post Office at the Department for Business and Trade, Gareth Thomas MP.
