First day as the official candidate! The campaign is flying by! It was good today to be working on leaflets! They are the bread and butter of the campaign and you'll be seeing lots from all the candidates in coming weeks.
This week I also had the chance to meet with local farmer and National Farmers Union rep Gillian Van Der Meer. The NFU represent local farmers who are such an important part of the economy in Bexhill and Battle.
My Dad's family were farmers & growing up we were lucky enough to have a small holding so I spent most of my weekends in the countryside. Farmers put food on our tables & are stewards of our lands. I have campaigned for new laws to protect livestock from dog attacks & will oppose solar farms on prime farmland. I will always listen to our local farming community.
